September 1st has already passed for the class of 2027, and it was a big milestone. For those who have already committed, congratulations. You put in the work, stayed focused, and reached an amazing goal. You earned every bit of it.
If you are a '27 who did not get the response you hoped for, do not let that discourage you. Recruiting does not end on September 1st. Many Division 3 and smaller programs move slower with communication, and their process often picks up later in the year. Coaches at that level look for athletes who keep showing interest, so stay consistent. Send updates about your fall season, new highlights, or even your academic progress. Keep reaching out to the schools that fit you best. Staying on their radar can make a huge difference.
For the class of 2028, it's your turn. September 1st might seem far away, but it comes fast. Start collecting your best clips for your highlight video, focus on your grades, and learn how to write strong emails to coaches. You do not need to be perfect. You just need to be ready to show who you are when your time comes.
Recruiting is a long process, and everyone’s timeline looks different. Celebrate your progress, stay patient, and keep putting in the effort. Your moment will come, and the work you do now will pay off when it does.
